Often times, when I am faced with a tough decision, I will perform “The Rocking Chair Test”. This is where I take the decision I am wrestling with and imaging myself at 95 years old, in my rocking chair, looking back on the decision.
-What does my life look like all these years later, after having made the decision to take action?
-What does my life look like if I pass on it?
-How will I grow?
-How will I benefit others?
-What kind of a contribution–what kind of a difference–did I make by going forth?
If you are putting off your big dream, then why? If you are not accomplishing your goals in business, how come? If you are working hard yet coming up short, how is that possible?
